The best way to get to know the city is to go for a wander around it. We
recommend the following walks of 2-4 hours: 01.-Shopping:
Paseo de Gracia-Rambla Cataluña.
01.01.- These two tree-lined parallel avenues are filled
with shops, cafes and gems of architecture. Why not stroll up one and
wander leisurely down the other?.
01.02.- Highlights: La Pedrera, Casa Batlló, Plaza
Catalunya.
02.- Barcelona’s Old City: Ramblas-Gothic Quarter-Born
02.01.- Take a walk down the Ramblas, Spain’s most famous
street. From there you can meander through the fascinating streets in
the city’s Gothic Quarter towards the Born (arguably Barcelona’s
most fashionable area)
02.02.- Highlights: The Ramblas, El Liceu opera house,
the cathedral, Plaça Sant Jaume, Passeig del Born.
03.- Ports and waterfront: Ramblas-Barceloneta-Port
Vell-Villa Olímpica.
03.01.- From the Ramblas you can enjoy a walk to the
beach of Barceloneta passing by the old port of Barcelona, Port Vell,
on your way. If you continue along the beach promenade, you will arrive
at the Olympic village, Villa Olímpica.
03.02.- Highlights: Port Vell, the beaches.
